Deep-Rooted Dispute

This poem is about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict...

A home to two peoples,
but never at the same time.
A cherished belonging shared with another,
but both hands never hold it together.
A deep-rooted treasure sought by two nations,
but only one can claim it,
only one can own it,
only one can keep it.

...or so it seems.

There cannot be a shared peace...
until either side shifts and decides to release.
